Why has my iPhone screen suddenly turned blue?

A strong blue tint is often caused by an Accessibility setting, not a failed screen. Check Colour Filters, the Accessibility Shortcut and Zoom Filter before investigating hardware.
Probably not. Before assuming your iPhone screen has failed, check whether an Accessibility feature called Colour Filters has been switched on.
The question
My iPhone screen has suddenly developed a strong blue tint. The phone still works normally, but everything on the display looks blue. Is the screen faulty, and how do I fix it?
How to fix it
Open Settings and follow this path:
Settings
→ Accessibility
→ Display & Text Size
→ Colour FiltersSwitch Colour Filters off. Your screen should immediately return to its normal colours.
Stop it happening again
Colour Filters can be assigned to the Accessibility Shortcut. If it is the only feature selected, triple-clicking the side button (or the Home button on older iPhone models) toggles it on or off. If several features are selected, choose Colour Filters from the shortcut menu. This can make it easy to switch the filter on without realising.
To remove it from the shortcut, open:
Settings
→ Accessibility
→ Accessibility ShortcutIf Colour Filters is ticked, untick it.
If the screen is still blue
Also check the Zoom Filter:
Settings
→ Accessibility
→ Zoom
→ Zoom FilterSet this to None, then restart your iPhone. If the screen remains blue after checking both settings and restarting, you may need to investigate a display or hardware problem.
The Advisor’s take
A suddenly blue iPhone screen looks much worse than the problem often is. If the phone is otherwise working normally, check the accessibility settings before assuming the display has failed.
